This week I was asked to speak to 3 classes in the textile school at NC State. I was asked to discuss my personal experience of entrepreneurship, new product development, industry/market analysis, teams, networking, intellectual property, finances, marketing and networking. Today I spoke with the last class and was thrilled for it to be raining outside- how could a business pitch go any better when you are talking about rainwear and you have a soaked audience. I had so much fun talking to the students about my experiences in entrepreneurship. God has opened many amazing doors for RainyDay BridalWear and this was one of them! I just would like to thank Professor Erin Powell Smith for contacting me and giving me the opportunity to speak to her students. Go Wolfpack!

Today I met with Randall Rigsbee, the managing editor of Chatham News/The ChathamRecord for an interview about RainyDay BridalWear and my invention the WetKnot. In doing a small bit of research I found out ”The Chatham Record” began in 1879, it just made me think how different life and things are in our small town if you compared that first issue in 1879 to last weeks. I was raised in Chatham County from a little girl and truly love Pittsboro, so to me it is so cool be in my hometown local paper. At first the interview was a bit intimidating as Mr.Rigsbee is a very tall man with a deep voice, is obviously highly skilled in speed writing and it looked as though he was writing in a language that only he could interpret- so I had no clue what notes he was making:P Mr.Rigsbee was an absolute pleasure to interview with and the article should be in next weeks paper that will be on stands Nov. 12, 2008.
